JON OLIVA'S PAIN - "Global Warning" (2008) by Vincent Chameleon

Large deviations.

3 albums in 4 years! Jon Oliva loses decidedly time step.
If the first album, 'Tage Mahal (2004), had known in his own way, revive the flame of fire Savatage , Maniacal Renderings (2006) had strengthened credit, and all the good that we could then think of this new formation, aiming for more variation from one song to another and arrangements and orchestrations more developed too.
noted that Global Warning is also much better produced than its predecessor.
Listening to the latter, I must admit that any time for the first time, some songs sound by too obvious influences. Because from the very orchestral "Global Warning ", as such, instrumental in the 3 / 4, speaks bluntly Deep Purple by its Hammond organ sounds worthy of John Lord . Perhaps less obvious, excellent "Look At The World" reminds us still side with Queen (chorus). I find this quite amazing piece of his hand side tavern and its small aspect Jazzy. A success anyway. Oliva then moves up a gear on the two tracks below. Sometimes screamed, his voice really does not carry my membership, because too close to the idea that I can make Trash Metal style (not really my thing really). Finally, where I think the singer comes into its own, it is in the broader context surrounding and full of nuance, from the genus tortured crescendo, which "Firefly" is the most perfect illustration. Emotion on the warranty.
On 3 or 4 pieces, Jon Oliva not forgotten to take his fan base by offering up to cons and alternatives more daring things, like the highly successful "Master" . Filtered voices and rhythmic military as a Ramstein, Jon here is the voice of the villain Computer devourer of neurons (ours of course).

"Jon Oliva Metaaal IS!"

But Global Warning (...) also includes other things like this "Ode To G" (in memory of the album producer, died suddenly) every time we would prefer to appear as a bonus at the end of album.
The shadow of the airship fleet also visit the excellent "The Ride", and more on the last part of a "Someone" which will take you to the guts. The rhythm guitar is for once extremely similar to "Kashmir" . Detailing each title in the book, Jon do not hide it elsewhere. Shadow of Savatage necessarily also flat on the disk. The ogre's continuing investigative work by restoring a few riffs forgotten again (and found) his brother Chris , also disappeared that there are several years (see my album review 'Tage Mahal : http://ledeblocnot.blogspot.com/2011/01/jon-olivas-pain-tage-mahal-2004-par.html ).
The album is closed by the intimate and beautiful "Souls" , knowing that the beautiful digipack edition also offers a bonus, bringing us back again to the memory of Savatage . C e title had been developed from the time the album Power Of The Night. From Savatage the old kind.
Know to finish the Japanese press will see increased (as always!) A as an additional title, "I See" .

Fate of the body Matt Laporte ! At least that will not be John Zahner . "

The problem with this type of album is that too much mix genres, I'm not sure Jon Oliva succeed in finding and / or increase its audience. attested to the interest (oh so important!) on most commercial sites. cares But does this mean? Because just like me, singer should probably be royally f ** it. The proof Festival , published in 2010, is now his fourth album. YĆ©piiii!

clip in. ur two pieces : "Someone" or merging Led Zeppelin with that of Pink Floyd . Sublime!
"Souls" : A voice, an acoustic guitar, cello: It sometimes takes so little ...
